APPLEGATE - DAWDY ancestors

APPLEGATE, MCDAWDY, DAWDY

Saw an obit for one of my great-great-grandmothers, Mrs. Caleb Applegate. Have family buried in Thurman cemetery.

Caleb Applegate would have been my great-great maybe even great-grandfather. Am wanting to see if there is any way I could get copies of obits and any other documents, that you might have on the Applegate family, Kelso, Dawdy, McDawdy or Russell's.

Also, could you tell me what county Shenandoah, IA is in?

How would I find info on a grandfather who came from Ireland and was an agent for the government to the Indians? Last name was McDawdy, son was third white man born in IA, and he changed name to Dawdy.

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
