Be it known to all persons interested and concerned that I, Jonah B. Hall, of Benton Township, Fremont County, State of Iowa, being of a sane and reflective state of mind, and knowing life uncertain, and wishing moreover to devise the manner of disposing of my Estate after my demise, do this the twenty-third day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven (1857), make and ordain this instrument to be my last will and testament, making and dismantling all other of every manner and nature which can possibly be provided.

The items of this instrument are as follows, viz:

I commend my Soul to the disposal of Almighty God through whose provisions in Jesus Christ I hope for Eternal life.

I wish at my decease to have a Christian burial at the directive of surviving relatives and friends.

I give and bequeath to my son Harrison B. Hall the sum of one thousand dollars from my estate after my decease.

I give and bequeath to my son George W. Hall the sum of five hundred dollars from my estate after my decease.

I give and bequeath to my son William B. Hall the sum of five hundred dollars from my estate after my decease.

I give and bequeath to my daughter Abigail Jane Botsford the sum of six hundred dollars from my estate after my decease.

I give and bequeath to my daughter Lucy Ann Evan-- the sum of one dollar from my estate after my decease.

I give and bequeath to my son Samuel R. Hall the sum of fifty dollars from my estate after my decease.

I give and bequeath to my Executor or Executors the sum of five hundred dollars in trust to pay the same after my decease to the person who when the same is payable shall act as treasurer of the American Missionary Association, New York City, to be applied under the direction of the Executive Committee of that association to its charitable use and purposes.

I give and bequeath to the American Reform Book and Tract Society, Cincinnati, Ohio the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars from my estate after my decease.

If anything of my estate shall remain after canceling the above requests, it shall be equally divided among the respective interests as mentioned in the above will and testimony.

I appoint my son William B. Hall to be the executor of this my last will and testament.
