Hampton Man Passed Away Tuesday At Home
Charles R. Waters, age sixty-five, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday at his home. He had been in ill health for several months and death was attributed to a heart condition. Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, at 2:00 o'clock, at the Greenfield funeral home, in Hampton. Rev. Wayne E. Shoemaker, pastor of the Methodist church, will conduct the service. The body will be taken to Lanesboro, Iowa, where services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, at the Methodist church and burial will be made in the Lanesboro cemetery.
Charles Ray Waters was born March 15, 1894, near Lanesboro, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Waters. On January 20, 1915, he was married to Margaret Mae Shoemaker, at Lanesboro. Two children were born to this union. In 1926 the family came to Hampton where they had since made their home.
Mr. Waters is survived by his wife, his son, Gordon Waters of Humboldt, and his daughter, Mrs. Al Schroeder, of Sioux City, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters Mrs. Bessie Troxel of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Henry Troxel of Lanesboro, and two brothers, Earl Waters, of Sioux City, and Clair Waters, of Lake City.
