Searching for information on Simeon Brooks Forbes who lived in Fayette County in 1850 with his wife Margaret (Wells) and four children. Then youngest son, Charles William Forbes, born in Fayette, County in January of 1850. Daughter Josephine Lemon Forbes born in Charles City, Floyd County in 1853 or 1854 so family must have moved west between 1850 and 1854. Simeon died in Cairo, Illinois in 1862 but Forbes family must have remained or returned to N.E. Iowa because Josephine married James Marshall in Nora Springs, Floyd County, Iowa in 1873.

Margaret Wells Forbes's parents were Matthew and Isabella Wells who are also shown in the 1850 Fayette County Census as neighbors of the Forbes. Possible that Matthew Wells died and was buried in West Union in 1854. Neither family in Fayette County in 1860 Federal Census.

Any information appreciated and have other information I will gladly share.
