This is wonderful info. I've since found that the parents of Abraham R. SHAW were Thomas & Emily (ROBBINS) SHAW. Thomas SHAW was listed consistently in the census as being from Ireland. Emily's parents were Abraham & Hannah (FREE) ROBBINS from PA. Thomas & Emily SHAW are bur. in Carroll Co., OH and lived near the Columbiana Co., OH line. According to a Bible on the branch of Susan (SHAW)WILLSON, the youngest dau. of Abraham & Matilda (LONG) SHAW, their children were Lawrence, who m. Sarah JAMISON 14 May 1891, Amos who m. Florence Wells 5 May 1887, Elizabeth "Lizzie," who m. Joseph A. BARNHART 30 June 1886, Etta, who m. Henry R. MARTIN 30 June 1889, Samantha "Mantie," who was a school teacher who never married, and Susan "Susie" M., who m. Jesse Eldon WILLSON 20 Nov. 1895. George E. SHAW isn't on the list of Bible data given to me, although he was in the 1870 & 1880 census as a son, as well as being mentioned in Matilda's obituary as her son. George was crossed out by the 1880 censustaker, who wrote "Died" and some other info. in the margin, since the census was in June and George died in April of 1880. If anyone knows the meaning of what all the censustaker wrote in the margin, I'd be interested in learning that.
