Amelia Dhabolt, (b. 19 May 1868) was 12 years old in 1880, living with her parents Christopher and Catherine Dhabolt in Lucas County, Iowa. She is listed as Mealy. She had several brothers and sisters. She was not listed with family on 1885 census.
In 1900 she is living in Dubuque, Iowa with husband James Graham and daughter Anna Ruth age 7. Husband worked for the railroad and was an engineer.
The death of James Graham, age 45 survived by wife Amelia and daughter Ruth was reported in the Oelwein Register on 14 Nov 1905 and additional information published on 15 Nov 1905 according to index prepared by the Oelwein Area Genealogy Society.
Amelia Dhabolt Graham married John Thomas McDonnell on 29 Dec 1909 at Oelwein . He also was employed as railroad engineer, most likely the Chicago Great Western of which Oelwein was the “hub” and home of their primary shops. He was survived by wife Amelia, son John of Oelwein and daughters, Florence and Grace of Minneapolis … obit in Oelwein Daily Register Jan 1941. His first wife was Margaret Scully of LaSueur Minnesota.
Have not located any burial information for James Graham or Amelia Dhabolt Graham McDonnell.
