OLDEST MAN IN THE COUNTY

West Union, Oct. 2. – John Heale who is probably the oldest man in Fayette County, and one of the oldest in Iowa, is confined to his bed with illness, and owing to his age it is thought he cannot recover. He is 93 years old, and until within a few days has been a prominent figure on the streets, in possession of all his facilities, well posted on the news of the day, keenly alert on questions pertaining to human progress. He is well off financially, and has managed his own business affairs up to the time of his illness. He has made his home for many years with his son-in-law, John Sampson. His only remaining child, Mrs. John Stewart, of East Peru, is here assisting in his care.
