HIS SIXTY THIRD BIRTHDAY

The family of Dickson Beatty quietly surprised that worthy gentleman on Tuesday last by treating him to a party in honor of his sixty-third birthday. He was presented with a handsome cigar case and a pair of slippers, and Mrs. Beatty was given an elegant dress, by her sons and daughters. Rev. James Hill made the presentation speech. A number of friends, besides the family, were present and took part in the pleasures of the occasion, viz:
