Virginia K. Riemann Kidder

Virginia Katherine (Riemann) Kidder, age 87, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on November 6, 2020 at Accura Healthcare in Knoxville.

Virginia was born on June 8, 1933 in Kingston, Iowa. She was the daughter of George and Ann Alta (Benkert) Riemann. Virginia was raised in Kingston and graduated from Huron High School.

Virginia was united in marriage to James Kidder on June 18, 1954 in Kingston, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Kent. Virginia and James enjoyed 66 years of marriage.

Virginia worked at Pamida and then at Pella Corporation for 20 years. She was a hard worker, enjoyed cooking and listening to music. She also liked people watching and playing cards. Virginia’s number one priority was her family and making sure that everyone was okay. She loved her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by her family.

Virginia’s wishes were to be cremated. A private family service will be held on a later date.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Kidder; children, Kimberly Jahnke (Ron) and Kent Kidder; one sister, Doris Ann Rechkemmer (Kenny); two grandchildren, Stacy Bacon (Patrick) and their children, Grady and Charlie; and Ryan Jahnke (Stacy), and their children, McKenzie, Alex, Madison, and Levi.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Alta Riemann; five sisters, Winona Anderson, Marcelle Brown, Dorothy Springsteen, Velma Jean Keitzer, and Florence Miller; also one brother, Donald Riemann.
