Burlington - Betty Aileen Brockway, 96, of Burlington, Iowa, died Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born October 31, 1924, she was the daughter of William and Hazel Granaman. She married Marshall Frank Brockway on June 20, 1942. He died July 7, 2008.
She worked at Sylvania and later she and her husband owned and operated the B and B Greenhouse on Dehn Street.
Betty loved wood carving and at one time carved the entire Noah's Ark. Her passion was working with plants in the greenhouse and being outside. She enjoyed her special times with her grandchildren.
Survivors include one son Lonnie Brockway; two grandsons, Todd Anderson and Derek Anderson; one granddaughter Holly Edwards; one great grandson Cole Anderson and two great granddaughters Sarah Anderson and Kyra Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marshall Brockway, daughter Sandra Anderson, three sisters, Lois Dowell, Evelyn Marguia and Shirley Hales.
A private committal service and inurnment will be held in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in Betty's name.
