Death of Father Murtagh.
After an illness of several weeks originating in an attack of pneumonia, Father T. J. Murtagh passed away at Mercy Hospital at about 4 o’clock yesterday morning.
At this writing no definite arrangements have been made for the funeral, but it is believed that the funeral will be held on Tuesday morning at the Church of the Assumption, and the remains, in accordance with his expressed wishes, taken for interment to his former parish at Masonville, Iowa, where he was stationed for 23 years.
During his few years of residence in Cresco in charge of the parish of the Church of the Assumption, Father Murtagh won the respect and affection of his people to a marked degree, and though quiet and unassuming made many friends outside of his church who sincerely mourn his loss to the community.

Rev. Rudolph Lakomy attended the funeral of Rev. Murtagh at Cresco on Tuesday.
