WED 58 YEARS
Earlville, Ia. Oct. 31. - Mr. and Mrs. George G. Davey of Earlville celebrated their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary of their marriage on Thursday Oct. 29, having been married on that date in 1873 in the Methodist Church in Greenville, N. Y. by the Rev. Anzi Smith. Three years later they came to Earlville to their present home, where they have resided continuously ever since. It was also the anniversary of Mrs. Davey's birthday, she being 81, while Mr. Davey was 81, last August. Both are in very good health, Mr. Davey taking care of a large garden, as had been his custom for years, during the past summer.
At the dinner party, complimentary to the occasion on Thursday, there was present their three daughters, Miss Ida, who cares for her parents, Mrs. Henry Stoneciper of Earlville and Mrs. Wm. Tinkey of Cedar Falls. Mrs. Maude Davey, the wife of their son, Amzi, who died in Earlville seven years ago, and now of Dubuque, together with the Rev. L. C. Smith and several other close friends were present also on this occasion.
