Robert Ralph Rose, son of Dow and Jane Evans Rose was born in Wayne County, near Lineville, Iowa, August 26, 1888, and passed away at the Decatur County Hospital, Saturday, August 25, 1945, one day before his 57th birthday.

On February 3, 1925, he was united in marriage to Nora Bethards Holden, who survives him. The greater portion of his life was devoted to farming, and he was quite successful in this vocation. He was also a veteran of the first World War.

He will be sadly missed by his devoted companion and many friends. He was a good neighbor and highly respected by all who knew him.

Besides his wife, he leaves his stepmother, Mrs. Belle Johnson of Woodland, three half-brothers, Gus and Russell of Garden Grove and Frank in the armed forces. One half-sister, Mrs. Jettie Petty of Garden Grove.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Stewart Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Clarence Moore. Burial was in the Leon Cemetery.
