BLOOMFIELD - Donald L. Veatch, 51, Bloomfield Route 6, died March 5, 1989, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.
He was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Downing, Mo., to Howard Irvin and Mamie Slonaker Veatch. He was former owner of Veatch Plumbing and Electric; had worked at Bloomfield Newspaper for 20 years and was a farmer. He was a member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church, president of Davis County Fair board, former volunteer fireman, Davis County Jaycees, former member of American Legion Reed Whistler Post, was on several church boards and several other organizations in the community. He married Roberta Sullivan on Nov. 25, 1965, in Bloomfield.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert and Rodney at home; a sister, Anna Mae Lippert of Kirksville, Mo.; two brothers, Norman of Mitchellville, and Howard Olin of Tulsa, Oka.
The service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bloomfield United Methodist Church, the Revs. Ellis Andrews and Nancy Kerr officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
Visitation is open at Priester Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield.
The casket will be closed as the service begins.
Pallbearers are Marty, Paul, Jim and Ryan Veatch, Brian and Jonathan Lippert, and Craig Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Frank and Samuel Sullivan. Memorials have been established to Bloomfield United Methodist Church or Davis County Fair picnic grounds.
