Lorene Sprouse

Lorene Sprouse, 65, route 6, Bloomfield, died at her home at 12:25 a.m. today.

She was born Dec. 14, 1912 in Davis County to Sanford and Naomi Goode Modrell. She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church.

She had operated an answering service for 13 years and also a restaurant and had been employed at the Davis County Hospital and Nardini's Market.

She married Lester Sprouse on Dec. 20, 1933 in Centerville. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sally Foglesong of Bloomfield; two sons, William of Champaign, Ill. and Dennis of Pulaski; three grandchildren; two sisters, Zella Brunk and Freda Lyons, both of Burlington; and three half-brothers, Raleigh Dabney of Fort Madison, Osro Dabney of Burlington, Frances of Arizona; and two half-sisters, Martha Davis of Fairfield, and Gertrude McMain of Kansas City, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Priester Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Don Slaughter. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.

A visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church.
