d 25 Apr 1977Violet Ester Russell, 98, of Fresno passed away April 25 in Fresno. Mrs. Russell was born in Lompoc on April 1899. (d. 25 Apr 1977)
Mrs. Russell was a retired school teacher who had taught at Maricopa School District I for 15 years and in Crescent City for 10 years.
She was a member of the Fresno County Retired Teachers Association, Valley Vagabond Recreational Group and Unity Church of Fresno. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and gardening (especially violets).
Mrs. Russell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Joann Russell of Hanford; her daughter and son-in-law, May and Fred Brash of Fresno; three grandchildren, Steven Russell of Woodland, Duane Brash of Madera, and Iambie Worsley of Roseburg, Ore.; six great-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph C.; a son, Ralph C. Russell Jr., and a grandson, Gary Russell.
A memorial service will beheld at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bell Tower in Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno.
Arrangements are by Stephens and Bean Chapel in Fresno.
