I am looking for the descendants of NATHANIEL ADMINS and wife, AMANDA EVARTS ADKINS, early pioneers to Dallas Co. Both are buried in the Waukee Cem. under a old limestone headstone. They and their other children appear to have moved from Berriens Co., MI and followed their married daughter, MARY ANN AKINS HOFF, the wife of JOHN H. HOFF, who had moved to DSM in about 1855 and married there and farmed nearby in Dallas Co. Although daughter MARY ANN appears to have adopted the spelling of "AKINS", the other siblings and parentsappear to have gone by "ADKINS" (retaining the "D"). Other than the then-married daughter, the rest of the ADKINS family appear in the 1860 Dallas Co., IA Census with NATHANIEL ADKINS and wife, AMANDA EVARTS ADKINS. Some following the descending ADKINS male lines, and thus "ADKINS" living in Dallas Co. or Des Moines, may be related to me. I have a LOT of family genealogical research, and would like to make contact. Also, check the "biographical" site herein for full data on these individuals.
