Ora Williams
State Document Editor and Secretary of the Printing Board, born in Dallas county on a farm in 1862; rural schools and Adel high school, taught a year in the high school; learned printer's trade and became editor of Dallas County Democrat in 1881; removed to Des Moines in 1885, and became reporter, then city editor of the Iowa State Register, then became managing editor of the Sioux City Journal, later an editorial writer on the Omaha Bee, and for two years editor of the Sioux Falls Press, and a year was editor of the chicago Daily Review. He engaged in special news correspondence out of Des Moines for fifteen years, and until he was appointed document editor on organization of the office in 1915, then on adoption of the law placing the printing in charge of a printing board he became secretary of the board. Was reappointed and confirmed, and the term of office was extended by the thirty-eighth general assembly to four years.
