Pearl Hedstrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hedstrom, was born 12 Aug 1883 on a farm near Kiron. She resided with her parents until her marriage in February 1902 to Victor S. Lindgren of Arthur. This union was blessed with six children, three sons and three daughters. In 1906 the family moved to Kansas where they lived on a farm until 1914 when they moved to Emmetsburg, Iowa. Since then they have continued living on farms in various localities in Iowa, having moved to Ida county in 1919; to Plymouth county in 1924 and back to Emmettsburg in Palo Alto county in 1934.

Mrs. Lindgren came to Sioux City in December 1943 to visit her daughter. Shortly after she was stricken with severe illness. Periods of improvement only ended in further decline in health until Wednesday morning, 21 June 1944 she passed away at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 9 days. Her husband preceded her in death in 1922. She is survived by three sons; Waldon E. of Emmetsburg, with whom she made her home in recent years; Marion and Earl, both in the armed forces of our nation; three daughters, Mrs. Luella Zink, Sioux City; Iva of Los Angeles and Evelyn of San Francisco; two half-brothers, Jubel Hedstrom and Paul E. Hedstrom, Kiron; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Frank Lindquist, Arthur; Mrs. Verne Melene, Odebolt; and Mrs. Lambert Bergin of Ida Grove.

With many characteristics of life that will long continue in the memory of loved ones and friends there was above all in importance the blessed assurance in her own heart, she was prepared to meet God. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Arthur Evangelical Free Church. Rev. Lester Westlund and Rev. John S. Meyer officiated. A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Linman, Mrs. Herbert Tunberg, and Henry Tunberg sang two numbers: "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye". Mrs. Linman and Mrs. Tunberg sang a duet, "Whispering Hope". Interment was made in the Hayes Twp. Cemetery, Moore Brothers in charge.
