MRS. WALTER KERSHAW

Mrs. Walter (Alverda) Kershaw, 79, of 705 9th Ave., a Welton native, died Wednesday evening in Westwing Place here, following an extended illness.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Hanrahan Funeral Home, DeWitt. The Rev. David Owings of First Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will be in Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery, Welton.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Kershaw was born June 13, 1895, to U. Sherman and Lucy VanHorn. She married Mr. Kershaw Feb. 28, 1928, in Welton. The couple moved to DeWitt several years ago. She was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Marr, Muscatine, and two grandchildren.
