I am doing research into my late father's family and I am working on a brick wall dealing with his maternal grandmother's parents (Lone Knoebel nee Oliver/Olliver). In the 9 June 1887 issue on page 2 of the North Iowa Times, it has a death notice for Marinda Oliver, who per the notice and information on the 1925 Iowa State Census, is the mother of Lone Oliver. It is the only documentation I have for her date of death. I have not been able to find where she might have been interred. There is no record for a marker in the WPA records and if she was buried in Pleasant Grove cemetery there is no record for her interment in the surviving records for that period. My only lead is a mention for a Rev Bissell who conducted the service at the home of Lone's sibling Edward Wesley Olliver.
If Rev Bissell was the minister at one of the churches in the area.and that there might be a mention of the burial in the church records. There are mentions of Mr. Bissell in the 1880's issues of NIT but find only vague references that he might have been affiliated with the Congregational church. The 1885 Iowa State census has only one family in Clayton county with the name Bissell who lived in Volga Township but lists J.E. Bissell as a shoe maker.
Any assistance towards discovering which church Rev. Bessell was a part of and if there might be records dating back to Marinda Oliver's burial would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time
