Funeral services for Charles J. McCullow, 65, who died Friday, Jan. 16, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, G. J. Carroll of Monona, were conducted at St. Patrick's church on Monday, Jan. 19, by the Rev. W. Schmidt, assistant pastor. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery, Monona.
Mr. McCullow was born Jan 22, 1888 at Cresco, Iowa, the son of P. J. and Katherine McCullow.
He married Mary Zender of Cresco Nov. 17, 1913. The family had resided in Calmar, Cresco and Monona where Mr. McCullow was employed at the Weithorn shoe store. Later the family moved to Independence, Iowa where he owned and operated a shoe store, until three and one-half years ago when he was forced to retire because of ill health. He has been cared for in the home of his daughter in Monona since June 1952.
Surviving are: his wife, four daughters; and several grandchildren, Mrs. Gregory Peters (Angela) Neola, Iowa; Mrs. Gerold Carroll (Kathryn) Monona, Iowa; Mrs. Eldo Johanningmeier (Patricia) McGregor, Iowa; Miss Helen McCullow, Independence, Iowa.
