Mrs. James Mclane died at Xavier hospital in Dubuque, Jan. 02, at 12:30 a.m. following a lingering illness from which she had suffered a number of years.
Mrs. McLane was the former Maggie Meyer, daughter of Joseph Meyer and Maggie Winch, born Jan. 19, 1887. On June 07, 1905 she was married at Elkport to James McLane.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1939 and mother in 1926.
Mrs. McLane is survived by her husband and four children, Kenneth of Guttenberg, Jerome of Elkport, Loraine of Garnavillo and Stanley of Guttenberg. Also eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild and four sisters, Mrs. Alma Hall of Elkport, Mrs. Elsie Finnegan of Colesburg, Mrs. Geneva Uriell of Garnavillo and Mrs. Josie Takes of Cedar Rapids.
Services were held in the Catholic church Monday at Elkport with the Rev. Robert Saunders officiating. Pallbearers were J. H. Finnegan, Wallace Finnegan, Clarence Meyer, Elias Hall, Al Gerner and Walter Szemkus.

S. Pugh, Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmelzer, N. J. Finnegan, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Keleher, Elkader; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Berns, Leander Heck, St. Olaf; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schmelzer, Mr. and Mrs. Don Meehan, Garnavillo; Louis Winch and Fred Winch, Littleport; Mr. and Mrs. August Olsen, Colesburg; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Matt, Castalia, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Berns of Guttenberg.
