Clayton County Register, 14 Dec. 1938.

POSTVILLE: Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Samek were held Saturday morning at St. Bridget's Catholic church, with the Rev. P. Hogan officiating. As Emma Agnes Lestina, Mrs. Samek was born at Monona, March 03, 1883, and died at her home here Dec. 07, following a protracted illness.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Raymond, of Waterloo, and Leo, of Waukon. Also two sisters, Mrs. John Moses and Mrs. Mary Moses, and one brother, L. A. Lestina, all of the Monona vicinity.

Burial was made in the Bohemian cemetery east of Monona. Pallbearers were: Wm. Kozelka, Elmer Hoth, Mayor C. C. Sander, Herman Schuette, H. V. Steele and Earl Abernathy.
