Mayor Patrick has received intelligence of the death of Mat McKinney, the event occurring at his home in Youngstown, Ohio, on the 21st, the funeral yesterday, p.m.
Many of our people, especially the older settlers, will remember Mat when he run the tin and stove store in this city, a business he engaged in here for a number of years.
It was jolly Mat McKinney, a genial good fellow, happy in all relations of life - sunshine always depicted on his jovial countenance. The grave closes over one, who in life was an honest, upright man, a friend indeed, a companion with whom it was good to dwell.
