Peterson - Garms marriage - 1951

Sept. 09, Miss Joanne Garms, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garms, became the bride of Russell Peterson, son of William Peterson of Oelwein, and a grandson of Mrs. Minnie Lendman of Volga. The Rev. William Gebhard, pastor, officiated in the St. Paul Lutheran church in Volga. Bridesmaid was Miss Barbara Wenger, and best man was the bride's brother, Russell Garms. Ushers were Eugene Seeland and William Nydegger, both of Volga.

The bride attended the Monona and Volga public schools and the past few months has been employed in Waterloo. The groom is a Volga high school graduate and has had employment with the Bell Telephone Co. since he returned from the service.

The new couple will reside in Waterloo, where they have purchased a home.
