VOLGA CITY: In St. Paul's Lutheran church Friday, June 26, Miss Marlys Ann Oldfather, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vane Oldfather of Arlington, became the bride of Darrell E. Breneman, son of Supt. and Mrs. E. W. Breneman of Lowden. The Rev. Herman Cronrath, pastor, officiated. The bride's brother-in-law, Carl Warrington of Humbolt, sang several selections, Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Carl Warrington, of Humbolt. Don Breneman of Lowden, brother of the groom, was best man, and ushers were Dale Ball, Waterloo, and Del Hoffmeier, Cedar Falls, friends of the groom.
At the reception in the church parlors, Sara Seedorf of Arlington, the bride's aunt, cut and served the cake, and Mary Hoffmeier, Cedar Falls poured.
The bride, a Volga high school graduate, attended Upper Iowa University one year and will graduate Sept. 04 from Allen Lutheran School of Nursing in Waterloo. The groom is a Lowden high school graduate and has served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He has graduated from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls.
The couple will make their home at Wellsburg, where Mr. Breneman will teach in high school, and Mrs. Breneman has a position in the offices of Drs. LaPorte and Meier.
