Monday afternoon, Oct. 28, 1957, at the Hope Lutheran church in Littleport, Miss Joyce Jean Zapf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Romanus Zapf of Littleport, became the bride of Douglas Raymond Kuehl, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Kuehl of Strawberry Point. Rev. Clare E. Biegler officiated. Miss Janice Zapf, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor, and Miss Jean Zapf, sister of the bride, Miss Corrine Conner, friend of the couple, and Miss Pat Kuehl, sister o the groom, served as bridesmaids. Gene West served as best man, and Lawrence and Dale Kuehl, brothers of the groom, and Valdean Lange, friend of the couple , served as groomsmen. Douglas Clinton, cousin of the bride, and Larry Sylvester, friend of the couple, served as ushers.
At the reception a three-tiered wedding cake was cut and served by to the guests by a friend of the couple, Mrs. Leland Lange. Mrs. Robert Homewood, sister of the groom, served the koolaid, and Mrs. Bernard Zapf, aunt of the bride, served coffee. Mrs. Robert Homewood and Mrs. Lawrence Kuehl took charge of the gifts.
