John S. Woolstencroft was the son of Benjamin W. Woolstencroft b. 1809 in England d. 1887 in Murray County, Minnesota. His mother was Mary Ann (Kerr) Woostencroft b. 1809 in Ireland and d. 1897 in Fulda, Minnesota.
The family is recorded in the 1850 census in Monona Township, Clayton County, Iowa.
