Renn Carson Winter, 73, Osceola farmer, died Monday at the Clarke county hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Webster funeral home, with the Rev. Albert Boehler officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill cemetery.

Mr. Winter is survived by his wife, Minnie, two sons, Ernest and Kenneth of Osceola, daughter Frances Tolley of Osceola, two daughters-in-law, Norma and Jeanne winter; a son-in-law, Russell Tolley, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, a brother Joe of Osceola, half brother John of Sioux City, half-sister Dorothy Rose of Des Moines, brother-in-law Arthur Hodson of California, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The son of Alva C. Winter and Emma Bonney Winter, Mr. Winter was born February 20, 1891 in Osceola, was educated in Clarke county schools, and married in Osceola on September 2, 1915. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and was preceded in death by his parents and sister Bonney.
