Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening and interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
Robert Laurel Powell, son of Laurel Clell Powell and Ardis Wanda (Page) Powell, was born in Clarke County, Iowa, February 5, 1927, and passed from this life August 31, 2012, at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola at the age of 85 years.
Robert was a WWII veteran entering the Army upon graduation from Osceola High School in 1945, where he served as a company clerk in Germany. Upon leaving the military in 1947 he met and married Orma Louise Grimm. They were married November 14, 1947, in Osceola, Iowa, and spent 62 happy years together before her death in 2010. They were blessed with three children: Danny (Lou) Powell, Marilyn (Rod) Harger and Deloris (Eric) Smith.
