Ella Louise Harrell, the daughter of Albert and Angela Mae Preston Libby was born in Winterset April 22, 1924, and died Dec.31, 2002, of cancer at Mercy Medical Center. She was 78.
She received her education in the Madison County schools and married Clifford Eugene Harrell Jr., on June 10, 1944, at Winterset. The couple had two children, Angela and Terry.
The family lived in the Winterset area until 1959 when they moved to the Liberty community in Clarke County. She was employed by Robinsons for many years. She retired in the early 1970s.
Mrs. Harrell was a member of the Liberty Methodist Church and the Liberty Ladies Aid. She was talented in raising flowers and she enjoyed working in her garden. She also had enjoyable times with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Francis and Harold Libby and a sister, Mary Rynearson.
Mrs. Harrell is survived by her husband; daughter, Angela Putz and her husband, Eugene Putz, of Kirby, Ark.; son, Terry Harrell of Winterset; four grandchildren, Tammy Morton and her husband, Rupe Morton, of Indianola, Mike Putz and his wife, Penny Putz, of Glenwood, Ark., Erin Harrell and Briana Harrell of Winterset; six great-grandchildren, Bret and Chance Reid, Jacynda and Deric Putz and Charles and Jessica Morton; three sisters, Inez Harrell of Afton, Ruth Bush of Winterset and Betty Stephenson of Winterset, as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Jan. 3 at the Kale Funeral Home. The Rev. Robb Bruns of Indianola officiated. Mike Putz, accompanied by Penny Putz, sang I’m Coming Home and One Day at a Time.
Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery.Pallbearers were Bill Voris, Dwight Clark, Steve Kimes, Kenneth Coffman, Bill Schnittker and Ed White. Honorary casket bears were Vern Putz, Leonard Camp, Wallace Tracy, Glen Kent and Earl Culver.
Kale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
