1963Glen Dale Crawford, the son of John and Lydia Crawford, was born near Osceola, in Clarke county, on Dec. 23, 1890, and passed away at Indianola, on Aug. 19, 1963, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 26 days.
Mr. Crawford attended school at Osceola and also attended Simpson College.
On Sept. 30, 1934, he was united in marriage to Hazel Woods at Hiawatha, Kansas. They made their home at Osceola for a short time after their marriage and in 1936, they moved to Coon Rapids. Mr. Crawford was engaged in the livestock buying business practically all of his life.
In 1956, with his health declining, they moved to Indianola.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Gerald and Loren, and two brothers who died in infancy.
He is survived by his wife Hazel; one brother, Paul, of Denver, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Paul Crawford of Denver and Mrs. Don Crawford of Osceola, also three nephews, Jack Crawford of Des Moines, Jim Crawford of Osceola and Richard Crawford of Denver, Colo.
He became a member of the Methodist church at Osceola and was a member of Osceola Lodge No. 77 A.F. and A.M.
Funeral services were conducted at the Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 1963, with the Reverend O. E. Cooley and Dr. Glen W. Lamb officiating. Interment was in the Maple Hill cemetery at Osceola, with graveside Masonic services.
