John Brockway was a son of Isaac Brockway, and probably brother of George A. Brockway of Fayette co. on whose website one can view a biographical sketch of George that gives some great clues to Isaac. John was sometimes farmer and lumber merchant. He and Hattie eventually left Iowa first for Kansas, then Seattle and then Minnesota where they both died, John in 1922 and Hattie in 1928. The only censuses I could not find was 1850 and 1860.
