CLEGHORN – Merton E. Goodrich, 92, a resident of Cleghorn since 1880, died Sunday, June 21 at 1 p.m. in Cherokee at 604 West Willow where he had made his home for the past year and five months.

Mr. Goodrich had been in construction work, retiring 12 years ago. He was a 65 year member of Cleghorn IOOF Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Emery Goodrich, of Cleghorn, Harold W. Goodrich of North Fort Myers, Fla., one daughter, Mrs. Howard M. Montgomery, Cherokee; 12 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, in 1960 and by five sons, Ray Vincent, Merrill, Roy and Vernon.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. from Cleghorn Presbyterian church. Burial will follow in the Marcus Cemetery. (Source: Cherokee Daily Times, Cherokee, IA, Mon. Jun 22, 1964, pg. 6)
