HJALMER JORGENSEN
ALTA – Hjalmer Jorgensen was born February 10, 1872, in Osio, Norway. At the age of 14 years, he came to America, coming directly to Alta. After making Alta his home, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On March 21, 1913, he married Miss Emma Gulbranson and shortly after they moved to a farm near Jackson, Minn., where they made their home until the spring of 1919, when they returned to Alta and purchased the Gulbranson estate farm.

In 1944, they sold their farm and retired to Alta, where they lived until Mr. Jorgensen’s death.

He passed away at the Alta Memorial hospital September 27, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 17 days.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, and one brother, Albert, of Aurelia.

Funeral services were held in the Larson funeral home Friday afternoon with rev. Carl Larson, of Trinity Lutheran church conducting services. Bearers were Enock Molgaard, Claus Johnson, L. H. Pog, F. E. Castle, E. J. Edwards and Elmer Strom. Burial was in the Scandinavian Cemetery.
