Thelma L. Gregg, 86, a former long-time Larrabee area resident, passed away Friday, October 30, 1998, in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 1998, from the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Burial will be in the Cedar Cemetery at Larrabee, Iowa.

She was born on January 14, 1912, at Larrabee, Iowa to D.D. and Eliza (Jacka) Tilton. She graduated from Larrabee High School in 1929. She was married to William C. Gregg on August 21, 1933, in Cherokee, Iowa. She had been a resident of Sunset Knoll Retirement Home in Aurelia, Iowa the past 4 ½ years, prior to this had lived at rural Larrabee area since 1989 and before this she and her husband were engaged in farming on a farm southwest of Larrabee in Cedar Township for many years. She was a member of the Cleghorn Presbyterian Church where she attended services regularly until poor health made it impossible. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, and especially her family.

She is survived by one daughter and one son: Shirley Skadeland of Larrabee, Iowa, John Gregg of Ankeny, Iowa, six grandchildren: Linda Grauer and her husband Keith of Sioux City, Iowa, Kim Skadeland and his wife Karen of Larrabee, Iowa, Kurt Skadeland and his wife Jean of Roscoe, Illinois, Andrew Gregg and his wife Jenny of Stafford, Virginia, Timothy Gregg and Kirsten Gregg of Polk City, Iowa; eight great grandchildren: Carrie Lux and her husband Kevin of Meriden, Iowa, Jaren Grauer and Jennifer Grauer of Sioux City, Iowa, Tami, Tracy and Kevin Skadeland of Larrabee, Iowa, Kylie and Kristen Skadeland of Roscoe, Illinois; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on January 22, 1997, a son Gerald William Gregg, a son-in-law Kenneth Skadeland, one brother Lloyd N. Tilton and one sister, Sadie Gilbert.
