Funeral services for Mary Anderson Hanson, 97, Aurelia, will be Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, in the First United Methodist Church, Aurelia. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia. Mary died Monday, Nov. 9, in the Sunset Knoll Retirement Home, Aurelia.
Mary Ethel Lockwood was born Jan. 13, 1901, the daughter of George and Harriet Sarah Brewster Lockwood at Larrabee. On Feb. 12, 1919, Mary married Arvid Anderson in Larrabee. To this union three children were born, Ruby, Lawrence and Leland. They farmed in the Larrabee, Meriden and Aurelia areas. Mary worked as a cook in the Aurelia School. On Feb. 8, 1968, she married Elmer Hanson. Mary enjoyed flowers, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Survivors include: two sons, Lawrence Anderson, and his wife Donna, Aurelia; and Leland Anderson and his wife, Marilyn, Cleghorn; 13 grandchildren, Larry Gano; Peg Gano Fastenow; Polly Gano Rapp; Lorne Gano; Patricia Anderson Estes, Katherine Anderson Mazoyer; Jackie Anderson; Ron Anderson; Randy Anderson; Angie Anderson Endrulat, Pamela Anderson Raduechel; Mitchel Anderson and Darren Anderson; 38 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; one sister in law, Icyle Lockwood Cherokee; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mary in death were: her parents; her husband, Arvid Anderson, on Aug. 8, 1961; daughter, Ruby ad her husband Lowell Gano; second husband C. Elmer Hanson on March 6, 1987; three infant siblings; five brothers, Dicky, Charlie, Floyd, Roy and Matt Lockwood. (Source: scrapbook clipping hand dated 11-12-98)
