Funeral services for Vivian Hunter, 85, West Branch, were held July 8, 1989 at the West Branch United Methodist church, with the Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Hunter died July 5 at University hospital in Iowa City after suffering a heart attack.

The daughter of Orrin and Anna Halley Griffith, she was born May 22, 1904 in Story county. She married Earl Hunter April 3, 1926 in Ames.

She was a graduate of Ames high school and worked for several years as a secretary at West Branch State bank, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church, where she served as treasurer for several years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, Juanita Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Hoover Heritage Foundation and the L.A.L. club.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth, West Branch and Robert, Anchorage, Alaska; 3 sisters, Ethel Anderson, Buffalo Center, Faye Garner, Des Moines and Lola Stockdale, Gainsville, Fla. 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
