Funeral services for Warren C. Christian, 78, West Branch, formerly of Rochester, were held at the Rochester Methodist church Dec. 1, 1988 with the Rev. Norman Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Rochester cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill and Joe Stiff, Duane Dotson, Marlin Christian, Dwain Ford and Norman McQuillen. Sharon Stiff was organist.

Mr. Christian died at the Crestview Care Center, West Branch, Nov. 29.

The son of William and Fannie Chapman Christian, he was born in Rochester township Sept. 20, 1910 and attended the rural schools. He was married to Ruby B. Morgan at Aledo, Ill. Sept. 20, 1932. She died in 1976.

A farm laborer, tiler and carpenter, he spent his life in the Rochester area.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Audrey) Wolffe, Denver, Colo.; several grandchildren; 5 sisters, Blanche Laucamp, Elsie Stiff and Mrs. Alfred (Laura) Williams, Tipton; Mrs. Charles (Luella) Christianson, Muscatine and Mrs. Gilbert (Edna) Leinbaugh, Lost Nation and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and 3 brothers.
