Funeral services for Charles B. Driscoll, 84, will be held at St. Mary's Catholic church at 10:30 a.m. today (Nov. 16) with the Rev. John Boyle officiating. Burial is in St. Mary's cemetery. Joe Mallie and Joan Wethington will be vocalists. Mary Wethington is organist. Pallbearers will be Eldon Miller, Erwin Doermann, Vern Beckmann, Richard Mitzner, Victor Kimberling and Lee Heick. Mr. Driscoll died at his home near Mechanicsville Nov. 13.
The son of Dennis F. and Mary Malone Driscoll, he was born at Williamsburg May 23, 1904. He attended the rural schools of Iowa county. He was married to Lucile Wethington at St. Mary's church April 18, 1933.
A farmer, he had lived in the Mechanicsville community for 60 years. He was a member of St. Mary's church, a director of the Cedar County Co-op, the Moose Lodge, Tipton and was an ASCS township committeeman.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Patricia) Clark, LaPorte City; 2 sons, William, Tipton and Gene, Washington; 7 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a brother, Donald, Mechanicsville. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 3 brothers and a grandchild.
