Funeral services for Louella M. Walshire, 73, Tipton, were held July 11, 1988 at the United Methodist church in Tipton, with Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Sylvia Gould was the organist and pallbearers were Gene Todd, Bill Fay, Ralph Fulwider, Harold Ford, Harold Wehde and Richard Jedlicka. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Walshire died July 8 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness.

The daughter of Albert (Bert) and Viva Finefield Highley, she was born Sept. 6, 1914 in rural Tipton, She attended rural Cedar county schools and graduated from Tipton high school in 1932. She married Lawrence Walshire Aug. 27, 1936 in Rock Island, Ill.

Mrs. Walshire was a dietitian at the University hospitals in Iowa City for 15 years.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, JoAnn Kunde, Austin, Texas and David Walshire, Tipton; 6 grandchildren, a great-grandson and a brother, Lee Highley, Maquoketa. She was preceded in death by a son.
