Funeral services for Mrs. Laurence (Lura M.) Chapin, 87, were held at the Tipton Bible church Nov. 16 with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Graveside services were held at Oakdale cemetery, Davenport, with the Rev. Richard Heishmann officiating. Memorials may be made to the Tipton Bible church or Community Bible church, Davenport.
Mrs. Glen Nebergall was organist and Mrs. James Rees was vocalist. Pallbearers were David Fishburn, Larry Davis, Phillip Davis, Dick Snodgrass, Frank Bonis and Terry Keogh.
Mrs. Chapin died at her home in Davenport Nov. 12.
The daughter of Henry E. and Emma Gaines Baker, she was born at Cedar Bluff June 9, 1900. She was married to Laurence D. Chapin at Ft. Dodge Dec. 27, 1919. He died in 1963. The couple farmed in the Cedar Bluff area. She was also engaged is sales work.
Mrs. Chapin was a member of the Tipton Bible church.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Norma) Davis, Ashton, Ill. and Mrs. Blaine (Wanda) Fishburn, Bettendorf; a son, Laurence (Dick), Davenport; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Dora Gasaway, Petersburg, Ind.
