1878 Cedar Co. History, Rochester twp pg 726. Ross, John B., farmer, Sec. 31, P.O. Tipton. Owns 174 acres of land valued at $35 per acre. Born in Franklin co., Penn in 1800, came to Iowa in 1857 and located on his present farm. Married Sarah Ann Kirkpatrick in 1851, she was born in Franklin co., Penn in 1825. Have 3 children- Sarah J., J. O., Agnes M. Has held different town offices; members of Presbyterian Church, Republican.
