1878 Cedar Co. History Rochester twp pg 723. Cline, Jonathan, farmer, Sec 7, P.O. Rochester. Owns 250 acres of land valued at $35 per acre. Born in Cedar co. Iowa in 1844; his parents came to Iowa in 1839, and located on the same farm that Mr. Cline now owns. His father, Abraham Cline, was born in Penn. in 1798 and married Lydia Sharp in 1829, she was born in Maryland in 1808. Have 3 children- Nancy, Elizabeth, and Jonathan. Angeline died at the age of 21 years. Mr. Jonathan Cline has been Town Clerk, and held other town offices. Republican.
