1878 Cedar Co. History pg 723 Rochester twp. Baker, William, farmer, Sec. 18 P.O. Moscow. Owns 700 acres of land valued at $30 per acre. Born in Pickaway co., OH in 1819, came to Iowa in 1836, and located in Rochester twp, Cedar co., removed to his present farm in 1863. Was in the mercantile business in Rochester for about 14 years. Married Belinda Linsey in 1850, she was born in Hamilton co., OH in 1833, have four children- William, Ida May, Curtis, and Grant; had two children by former marriage James P. and Welcome M. Mr. B. has held different offices in the township, and has been Deputy Sheriff of the county. Republican.
