Long time Anita, Iowa, resident Jane M. Miller died peacefully November 6, 2011, in Atlantic, Iowa, following her loving husband of 70 years, Rex H. Miller, who died on September 21, 2011.
Jane and Rex grew up in Anita, graduating from Anita High School and the American Institute of Business. They married on June 20, 1941, at her parents' home, then lived together in Anita until moving to the Allen House in Atlantic in 2009.
Jane was born to Floyd Dement and Genevieve Shultz Dement on October 15, 1919, in Anita, IA. Rex was born in Adair, IA, to Carl Herman Miller and Nellie Pearl Harry Miller on July 16, 1918 in Adair, IA. They have three sons, Gary (Gail) of LaVista, NE; David (Marilyn) of Des Moines, IA; and Timothy (Pam) of Anita, IA; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, who miss them greatly.
They were active in the Anita business community where they owned and operated Anita Meat Processing, a business that continues today under the ownership of Tim and Pam Miller.
Jane's Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday November 12, 2011, at the Anita Congregational United Church of Christ followed by lunch at the church with a time of visitation. A private interment service will precede the funeral.
