YOUNG PEOPLE HAPPILY MATED

Marriage of Ida May Hope to Mr. Clarence E. Smith Celebrated at Home of Parents North of This City on Wednesday Evening.

Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Hope in Clay township occurred the marriage of their daughter Ida May to Mr. Clarence Smith. The Rev. Hohansheldt of the Methodist Episcopal church, Marne, spoke the words which united these two young people for life. After congratulations an elaborate three-course supper was served and the evening was enjoyably spent in various ways. The bride and groom were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents, and the best wishes of their host of friends and relatives. About eighty guests were present, those from out of town being Miss Annie Hope and Mr. Sherman Hope of Oasis, Mr. Wrigley Smith and son Ralph of West Branch, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Conine and son, Verne, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Herbert, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Stemm, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Taylor and their families of Audubon, Miss Goldie Conine of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Herbert and family and Mr. Will McCrary of Anita and Mr. Henry McCrary of Brayton. The home was beautifully decorated with roses, smilax and ferns. The bride was beautifully gowned in white, and the groom wore the conventional black. Miss Dessie McFarlay played Mendelson’s wedding march. This popular young couple will reside on a farm one mile north of Buck Creek church, where they will be at home to their many friends.
