Timpe, Riedel - I am searching for information about my great-grandfather, Louis Riedel, who came to the US from Germany in the early 1860's. Louis lived in Wheatland, Iowa, in 1880 because that is where & when my grandfather, George Riedel, was born; however, family history states that Louis lived in Glidden, & Lanesboro, Iowa. Louis died ca 1885. Louis married Katrina Maria Sherer (Scherer, Scherrer) daughter of Jacob Sherer & Margarethe Timpe Sherer. Margarethe Timpe was the daughter of Johann Wilhelm (William or Henry) Timpe & Anna Dorthea Timpe. Anna Dorthea Timpe died at the home of her son, Jacob Timpe in Lidderdale, Carroll County, Iowa 12 June 1882.
My grandfather, George Riedel, was married in 1902 in Benton County, Iowa, which is where my grandmother, Edith Harger Riedel, was born & was living. They moved to Campbellsville, KY, which is were I am today. Please send a note with any information pertaining to my ancestors. I would enjoy and appreciate it.
