I translated the following article from Der Carroll Demokrat, a German-language newspaper published in Carroll, Iowa, between 1874 and 1923. The article was originally published on Friday, 15 March 1895. Any information in brackets or notes at the end are my own explanations. It reads as follows:

Monday evening the Egermayer family presented a concert in the Germania Hall. It is indeed a rarity that a complete concert is put on solely by the members of a single family, so it must have come as a pleasant surprise to the listeners that all the musicians were musically expert on their instruments. The family is truly very musical, and consists of the father, five sons, and two daughters, and the head of this family can be quite proud. The music that the family can produce would please even the best of critics, and the family demonstrated this once again on their evening of honor. The most difficult concert pieces were performed with elegance and precision, and just as the orchestra members made up a single and complete family, so also was the concert a harmonious whole and a great pleasure for the audience from start to finish. The various soloists were repeatedly applauded so continuously that there always had to be an encore. The noted local pianist Mrs. O. M. Moore, and the singer Miss Grace Kail, also very graciously performed a few numbers. Both ladies were richly rewarded with continuous applause. At the end of the concert, the opinion of the audience was unanimous that another such entertainment should be held very soon.
